Ford gave them 5 million.

Like I said before this has nothing to do with birds. This is about economics not the environments and they want to privatize a public beach and make money off of it in the fututre. They work in colusion with big business.

They have gotten money from Pew Trust. They gave them 1.4 million in 1998 then another 2.5 million the next year. http://www.enterstageright.com/archive/articles/0101americanwest.htm

The problem arises when the oligarchy of wealth and power combines with idealists in order to exert hegemony and control over humankind. They will do what they must to control and dictate what goes on with private and public property. From ideas to land, they seek control...

The environmental groups, funded by the tax-exempt-rich-man foundations such as Rockefeller and Pew Charitable Trusts attempt to lock up and crush natural resource users and producers, and those who would use so-called public lands in the western United States. As a result of their actions, the rural way of life is an endangered species.

This reflects what I said yesterday

"This is not juat about Hatteras. This is how they steal land all over the country. This junk started in 1902 with Teddy Roosevelt who after it was not longer fashionable to just gooing shooting "injins" created the Forrest Reserve System to take land away for the Taos Indians under the pretexts of "Science" the sad story continues as one native group after another had their lands taken by Federal coporations in the names of Science and or the Environment. Teddy however gets to known as the man who was preserving nature bla bla bla. Truth is he was a warmongering racist who just further connected big business and government. He butched people in Central America and the Caribbean as well. His anti-trust laws were for nothing but to transfer the power of the monoply men to the government itself which in turn did they same things the corporations were doing before. They "Preserved" a lot of land however each time after crating the monoplies and not allowing develpoment on the free market, the State run lands were basically awarded to state connected businesses (literally in the same families) as they became privatized. They liked to play with language as well. For example with the Forrest Reserve "trees" are considered crops, thus making them available for large farm subsidies as is tobacco, and slew of other non-food products. They get federal money, stole the land then turned it over to their cronies. The Natives of course were never paid.

This was the Case in Hatteras Island as well, though with the state governemnt rather than the federal one, and non only did they not pay the Natives (most of whom were now dead) they didn't pay anyone for the land until the price offered had depriciated into worthlessness due to the hyper inflation brought on by the Fed and our good old American Oligarchs the Rockefellers, Morgans. etc etc.

You see this has been going on for a very very long time. "Environment" and "Science" just became the new excuses to take control of communal or public lands as well as robbing American Indians, after it was no longer an option to just commit open genocide. Prior to that, the excuse was "Christianization," where missionaries create the foothold and soon the army would follow. All these things are fronts. None of it had anything to do with spreading religion, protecting the environment, or studying science. Those are all excuses and we dont have to speculate about it because it has already been done. We KNOW they were land grabs because the history has already happened and those lands were sold off and privitized. That is what these groups are for, and that is also why they stand against alternative clean energy etc things that one woulf think are Pro-environemtn and Pro-science. "

I wanted to add, Toyota is a big supporter of Audubon, they actually donated 20mil a little while ago. they are legally required to list it somewhere, so if you are intersted in boycotting, poke around on the internet.

That is a very good point. I have been thinking the same thing. It would also be a good idea to directly boycott the Audubon. Even if you have never supported them, it would work. Just call them up and say, "I will never donate or anyhting again." If enough people say that... And hittting them in the wallet is exactly the type of thing they need. i suggest suggesting it to others. If these jerks didn't have so much money, they probably wouldn't have so much power and influence.
